Grand opening of St George’s Wharf Pier

Posted on Wednesday 14.09.2011

We have played for some beautiful weddings recently but last Wednesday (14th September) we were delighted to play for an entirely different occasion; the opening of a new pier along the Thames. The pier is called St George’s Wharf and we performed background music mainly from our classical repertoire whilst the invited guests enjoyed canapés before the grand opening. Amongst the guests was the Mayor of London Boris Johnson who gave a highly amusing speech before officially opening the pier and making his grand departure by boat on the pier’s maiden voyage!
