Performance on Radio 3

The Tyburn String Quartet are delighted to have been asked to play live on Radio 3 on the 23rd June as part of ‘In tune’ with Trevor Pinnock. We will be playing extracts from Haydn’s Symphony Quintetto (after Symphony No. 101 The Clock) Arranged by Salomon and edited by Christopher Hogwood. It is written for String Quartet, Flute and Fortepiano. We will be performing this work along with a miniature of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, conducted by Trevor Pinnock on the 25th June at The Kings Place. This is: ‘A rare opportunity to hear chamber arrangements of two major symphonic works, contrasting Salomon's ingenious and creative eighteenth-century transcription of Haydn's Clock Symphony and Erwin Stein's visionary transformation of Mahler's neo-classicist symphony for fifteen players and soprano.’ 

We are thrilled to have been asked to be part of this project and perform live on Radio 3!
