American Express performance in London

On Wednesday the 9th of June we were hired by Primo Event Management to play for a corporate event at the Merchant Taylors Hall, central London – our client was American Express. We were very fortunate that the weather was on our side and so were able to play outside on the terrace which is situated in the heart of the building. We played as the guests arrived, providing some light background music as they had champagne and canapés.

Then came the exciting bit! We were asked by our client to organise some singers to perform before the meal was served and we were very happy to do so. Our talented singers were Sara Lian Owen (soprano) and Nick Scott (tenor). Sara Lian performed ‘Summertime’ and ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ and Nick sang ‘Una Furtiva Lagrima’. Both of our special guests sang beautifully  and were greatly  appreciated – they were singing from a balcony above the terrace whilst we accompanied from below. After the meal, we then played again, this time our set consisted of pop and more contemporary music with many arrangements by Coldplay,The Killers and The Beatles.

The event was a huge success and we all had a great evening – we would like to thank everyone at the Merchant Taylors Hall for making us feel so welcome!
